Scott Wilson, if you know the owner, please give me his number. As Richard mentioned, he was sued by Beckett and had to close its doors. Man, I love this software. I've been manually updating the sets ever since they stopped updating the program in 2016. But, now, a recent Windows update won't let me use the program. I need a patch or something so I can use it with Windows 11.
I am in the same boat. I do not want to go to Beckett, but want to access my data. I'm guessing that my only option at this point is to use my old laptop that does not have Windows 10. I would love to find a way to use it on my Windows 10 devices. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
Mike Habighorst, I was in the same situation. I can run The card collector 7.0 on my old Dell with windows 10. How I did it was install the program, then delete all the data files but keep the program. I then copied all the files from my old computer on a portable hard drive (usb will work also) and recopied them to my windows 10 computer directory the program was in. I wish I could get updates but since the company was bought out my card values are still from the last CPP update 7 years ago.
Ted, Thanks. At some point since my comment, an update must have happened to Windows that allows the program to run. Everything is working as it should. Thanks for the reply, though.
Looks like they are out of business. I've had this software since 2014 and was looking to do an update on my prices earlier this year. All links in the software take you to the websites that no longer exist. I've done searches on and found no one that will say what happened. I guess if there weren't enough people to get upset about it, then there weren't enough people to keep the business going. Sorry to hear it, I actually found it to be the best thing on the market for card collectors.
